Establish Good Hiring Practices

  1. Ask for government issued photo ID to determine legal age. (Passport, driver’s license, provincial identification.) A worker must be 19 years old to work in the sex industry. If police or city inspectors attend your business they will expect to see photo copies of your workers ID for use as proof all workers are of age to be in the industry.
  2. Discuss limitations and expectations. The hours you expect people to work, the kinds of service your business offers.
  3. Explain how the pay works and what the worker should expect to earn. What are the book on fees, room rates, agent percentages, fine (what fines could be for)
  4. Answer any questions the worker has about policies or pay.
  5. If you do not hire (or if you fire) someone and they ask you why – tell them honestly in a respectful manner. Example: “I’m sorry but I’m looking for someone with larger breasts.” We can take the truth easier than wondering what it was that turned you off.
